BAILEY'S NEW CONSOLIDATED BOARD

Bailey's new board is out now featuring artwork painted by Ashley Thayer.  Thayer recently went to our shop to check out the board post production for the first time.  I think she was stoked.  It's a pretty rad board with a giant sea turtle duck diving a wave.  Maybe not your usual board graphic, but I think it will bring a little something to the monotony of the wall of boards at your local shop.  Check here to find out where you can get yours.

Wrap Out

Seriously, if you don't get this done in the DF you blew it.  Then again, not everyone can look as cute with hair wraps.  Melissa, Bailey and I headed down to Mexico in January to check out our girl Ashley Macomber's solo show there at the Proyectos Monclova off shoot.  It ruled.  We stayed in the Condesa and headed over to Roma, the shop not the neighborhood, the sole provider of Keep to the DF masses.  Johnathan and Dani who own Roma are good peeps.  Next time you're on Tamaulipas in La Condesa say what up to them.

Monkeying Around

Zoos are pretty cool.  I know there's some controversy surrounding the holding of wild animals, but generally I think they are pretty rad places where people especially kids can go and learn about the laws of nature.

We headed to the LA Zoo which is publicly owned, not private, and only costs $10.  It's super cheap to become a member and you can go for free for a year.  It's a nice place to walk around for a couple hours.

There's a new gorilla exhibit where all the kids flocked to see our distant relatives.  It was pretty cool because a huge gorilla came down to the plexiglass, mooned everyone and started to pee.

The kids went crazy.  That's real.

R.I.P. The Wire

This week is a sad week.  It marks the beginning of our life without HBO's television series, The Wire, a socio-poltical microcosmic discourse articulated through the city of Baltimore.

If you haven't seen it, stop wasting your time and fill that empty hole in your life.

R.I.P. Omar, Wee Bey, Avon, Bodie, Dookie, Daniels, Bubs, McNutty, Bunk, Freamon, Kima, Snoop, Gus, Slim, Prop Joe and everyone else who kept it real.

Run them corners, soldiers.

Chinatown

We've finally moved our office to Chinatown.  A lot of space and a lot of work to go.  It's good to finally have room to get things done.  Our shop is still in Los Feliz so don't forget to visit Stephanie and drop in.  Party sometime soon to christen the new space.....and yes that is a geode lamp.
